AI Radar
Why this blog now
Keeping up with the latest in AI is essential to stay informed — not only about the technology advances, but also the ethics, the policies, and how it influences our work. Especially for those of us who work in teaching and learning, capacity building, and community services.
So we developed this agent with Claude to respond to this need.
In a few words, the agent does the following:
Scans the major AI labs and technology companies every Monday — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, Meta and others — without needing to be asked.
Uses primary sources only. Company newsrooms, research blogs, regulatory texts. If a claim cannot be traced to its original source, it is dropped.
Reads everything through four lenses: teaching and learning; work and process; model capabilities; and policy, ethics and institutional response.
Scores each item and discards the rest. An announcement earns its place only if it changes what someone could actually do, decide, or plan.
Looks for the connections between the lenses — a new capability that quietly makes an existing policy unworkable, or a product built to satisfy a regulation most institutions have not read yet.
Says when a week is quiet rather than filling the space.
Drafts the briefing itself — the research, the analysis and the writing you read here are produced by the agent.
My role in this interaction is that of an evaluator: validating, editing, and curating what will make it or not to the next blog post.
We lead by example, we lead by being transparent.
